Character Information
- Counselors will have the final say over information posted about GMNPCs, Historical Characters, or NPC characters and their backgrounds while players will have the final say over the veracity of content pertaining to their characters. However, due to the encyclopedic nature of the Haelrahv Wiki, information about IC characters should be kept factual and be limited to what characters have learned through RP, historical information, and what the player of that particular character has developed. Opinion, and non relevant information should be kept out of this bio. Opinion, or commentary, may be added on a seperate page linked from that page.
- Characters may be in multiple categories, but they should also be categorized by profession, race, as well as being in the category Player Characters. For instance, John Smith, a Human Tracker, should be in the category Tracker Player Characters and Human Player Characters. This is so the main categories for humans and trackers are not bogged down by player information, making the general information easier to access.
Commands
In order to be uniform in nature, in-game commands should be formatted alike within the wiki. They should be in all caps, and bolded using thre apostrophes before and after them like this: '''Example''' Optional information should be placed within < > so that in the end you get something along the following lines:
ANSWER <Yes/No>
Likewise, wiki articles pertaining to a command should be in all caps, to indicate that this is a page about a command. It is acceptable to make a lowercase page redirecting itself to the uppercase page.
Event Logs
Players are encouraged to post event logs, but it is requested that they be edited for brevity and unnecessary actions, whispers, thoughts, e.t.c. be edited out first. It is okay to have an unfinished edit of a log posted as long as the poster plans to finish cleaning it up. Once set in the final form, an e-mail may be sent to hr-beau@haelrahv.com requesting that the log be protected from editing to preserve it.
OOC Content
OOC, or Out Of Character content is allowed within the confines of the Haelrahv Wiki, but it should be carefully noted that it is such. This can be done by either placng all of the relevant information on a single page that is entirely made up of OOC content, such as a page about a character's player, or by making a note that the following paragraph, section, e.t.c contains out fo character information.
Quests
It is alright to post information about quests such as where to go to start them, and who you should talk to in order to do so. It is NOT okay to post a quest walkthrough, or the items needed, or where to find them with regards to the quest itself. That doesn't mean the items cannot have pages for them, and cannot exist in the wiki. It is also acceptable to post the rewards given out for completion of the quest.
Redirects
It is alright to redirect pages to the main page, in fact its encouraged to redirect common mispellings of important pages to their regular selves. However, please keep in mind that a page that simply redirects one page to another should not be in ANY category EXCEPT Category:Redirects.
Scripts/Scripting
It is perfectly acceptable and even encouraged to make wiki articles about scripting, as well as to pose actual scripts for review and use. However, with this come some guidelines. It is NOT acceptable to post articles or scripts that encourage people to AFK script. It is NOT acceptable to post articles or scripts that provide means of getting around AFK scripting checks.
