| Description:
| These are hissing dome-shaped beetles found in wooded areas. They have soft, pink skin, which provides no protection, unlike our insects on earth. They rely on hiding between branches and behind roots for protection. They hiss when disturbed and scamper off. The loud noise is an attempt to scare predators off allowing them time to escape. When stepped on or squeezed, they splatter everything with gross pink ooze and make a popping noise, which sounds like the cork coming off a champagne bottle. The ooze is harmless, but it is icky.
