Josie Laurens

Josie Laurens is a Human Tracker who currently resides in Llanfair.

Though her frame is small, she stands at 5 feet 7 inches tall, while years of hunting and enhancing her skills have left her a well toned body. Her ice blue eyes have a multitude of violet flecks swirling within them almost giving her a mischievous look at times. Most notable, is a thin violet line branded above her left brow that extends to the middle of her cheek crossed by a crescent shape above the brow with a small sphere near the temple which was branded onto her face at birth she was told.

Background

The family history for Josie is very cloudy and uncertain. Orphaned at birth, she was raised by a group of traveling performers who had named her Bella the beautiful and had trained her in the ways of the performer. For years they traveled throughout Haelrahv as Bella grew up singing and dancing loving every minute of her life on the road, until the time when the travelers informed her that it was time for her to make it on her own. Bella made her way to Llanfair and met a few people but struggled with the uncertainties of her chosen profession and her life as it had been thus far. Through a few long years, Bella searched her soul and realized that she needed to start fresh, to be reborn. And so she decided to change her name as well as her profession, and Josie Laurens was born. She decided on her course of action and traveled to Wargale to study under one of the highest mages within the city and soon became a very competent mage of her own right.

After completing her training she slowly traveled her way back through Haelrahv finally settling in Llanfair. But within her lay a restless heart and even though she was happy as a mage, it just wasn’t enough. The spells were powerful, but they weren’t making her feel as if she were truly doing what she was meant to do. There was just... something missing. And so she set out into the Isle of Mist and sat at the temple and prayed to Ateon asking for his guidance. As she sat and prayed for days on end, she realized that within her heart lay Ateon’s own blessing. The blessing of loving nature, of being one with the earth. She had found her calling and as she stood, the dirt and leaves swirled with a renewed passion around her as if Ateon himself was giving his blessing to her choice. Her spellbook lay discarded on the floor of the temple as she left that day a new woman, a tracker.

Family

Though orphaned at birth, Josie is not in want of family. Through her travels, Josie became acquainted with a lovely girl named Surendra Patel, who she became instantly bonded to as a sister. Involved at one time with Guardian, Caxz Dirman, the two of them had a child, Anya Lantriklir. Through the years their daughter Anya had brought home many orphaned children who Josie took in as her own until such time as they once again made their own way into the world. Through a dear friend Inaira S’real, Josie met her surrogate mother Eka Oni, who she lovingly refers to as "mum". Family is very important to Josie since she never truly had a family growing up, so to her all her friends are her family as well.
