>A gore-stained box marked "Blackfury Industries" lands with a squishy thump, spilling out a variety of metallic limbs. An oozing torso then emerges, leaving behind a bloody trail as it wriggles across the floor. Moving with a force of their own, the appendages quickly attach themselves to the torso, blood and puss squirting out from the sockets as they snap into place. Morrigan Blackfury arises, nonchalantly brushing herself off.

You see The Ultimate Bazoom Brawler Morrigan Blackfury, a Darju Trooper. She has endless black voids for eyes and an azure complexion marked with midnight black stripes. Upon her lips she has deep purple lipstick. She has waist length deep purple hair styled into dreadlocks. She has a haunting face. She has a gangly build. She stands about 9' 6" tall, and seems to be timeless for a Darju. She is implanted with a cyber tail and a chainsaw hand covered with jade green drachna. She is pierced with a steel eyebrow ring printed with the words "Master", a dead fly ear stud, a spiked tongue-stud through her tongue, a silver nose-ring, and a ball closure navel-ring with a red relao bead. She appears to be feeling relaxed.

She is not holding anything. She is wearing a drachna hairpin handsomely set with a sky blue turquoise stone cabochon, a smooth wooden skull, a silver name badge reading Field Marshal Morrigan Blackfury, a black velvet choker with an ankh symbol hanging from the center, a silver chain belt worn low on the hips, an adorable black and silver borf plushie with a glistening pink nose, a dark green unit insignia patch, a Rtuzma Step-2 pulse rifle, a sapphire blue armband adorned with some medallions, a colorful tin lunchbox with the Decepticon symbol painted on the side in iridescent purple paint, a green t-shirt with the words Troopers Forever! printed in white text, some black BDU pants with cargo pockets, and a pair of black leather steel-toed combat boots.

Acosae Eshai asks, "Have you done any work outside what's in the lexicon and this pamphlet?"

Acosae Eshai says, "I'd hate for us to try and work on stuff you've already done."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "I haven't delved much into the language systems at all honestly."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "And to answer your question from the boards, Eolai would have masculine and feminine endings. Even though they like equals, I still think they would have those aspects like nature does."

Haidee Idia-Anari asks, "So which is masculine and which is feminine? O and A?" Acosae Eshai says, "At least we don't have to worry about a neuter case."

Dzynna Zol says, "Although...I do have a question." Dzynna Zol says, "About the Darju names."

Dzynna Zol says, "This pamphlet lists Darju vowels as a,e,i,o,u. I got my name straight out of the CM." Dzynna Zol asks, "So what happened to y?"

Dzynna Zol says, "Y isn't listed under consonants either." Morrigan Blackfury says, "Sorry, got pulled away for a second." Morrigan Blackfury ponders.

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Well crap, it should be on there, sorry."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "I was going to say use namegen as a guide."

Dzynna Zol asks, "Also was curious about Darju pronunciations. Especially the double consonants, like Dz, Zr, Nk, Lh, etc. Any guidelines in place for these?"

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Masculine would be O although its not as common as an ending, and A would be feminine."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "I'm working on a pronuncation guide, just been fairly busy IRL."

Dzynna Zol says, "That would be so so helpful. I've always liked being able to SAY words and names I read in the text games I play."

Zrel Tafkal says, "Figure Zrel is pronounced "Zhrel"...and away for a couple."

Acosae Eshai asks, "So, how about the other languages and feminine/masculine/neuter cases?"

Ailir Iseo says, "Only race I can see having a neuter would be Scephyst. Maybe Alajsh."

Acosae Eshai says, "I was thinking Jaddans would have it." Acosae Eshai says, "Since they're 'special' and all."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Since the male female split is so strong with the Jaddan, I wouldn't see them using a neuter."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "At least with the traditional ones, maybe new slang would have it just to mess with the old guys." Acosae Eshai says, "Alteri shouldn't have distinctions, then. They all look the same, really."

Dzynna Zol asks, "How about word length? Any of the races more prone to short or long words?" Acosae Eshai says, "The eolai namegen leads me to believe Eolais have no issue with huge words."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Yeah, Alteri wouldn't really distinguish, something is pretty despite the sex."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Alteri tend toward shorter words." Dzynna Zol says, "True, but yet I've never seen a Darju name more than 2 syllables."

Drusilla Fyrestick says, "Alteri item names seem to very long."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Alteri are a little weird cause they have shorter words but also like to string them together on the fly."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Like for Jaddan, even rocks would have a masculine or feminine aspect depending on the properties."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "As for darju, I think that they would be more likely to have neuters since sex isn't really as big of an issue with them." Morrigan Blackfury says, "Just who ever can beat the crap out of whoever else."

Acosae Eshai asks, "So, are you saying Darju would have all three? Or everything would be sexless, except for maybe a few special instances?" Morrigan Blackfury says, "They would tend to be more sexless with special instances."

Acosae Eshai asks, "For instance, Fire = Itai. Say you have a word with fire in the name, would you use 'itai' in conjunction with another word to form that?"

Acosae Eshai asks, "Or do Eolai see the elements as sacred, and they can't be combined with other words?" Acosae Eshai says, "I don't know, I can't really phrase this question right."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "I get what you're after..."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Those specific words wouldn't be used, but a variation, those are like ancient eolaish that are kept for rituals...I just thought I'd include them since they were out there now."

Haidee Idia-Anari says, "Like with the markings." Haidee Idia-Anari taps an Efae marking. Morrigan Blackfury nods to Haidee Idia-Anari.

Acosae Eshai asks, "So, for example, what would you see the variation for Fire being in today's language?" Acosae Eshai asks, "Just a simple vowel change, like Itae?" Morrigan Blackfury says, "I was thinking it be like itaiae, addition of a syllable." Morrigan Blackfury says, "Got to love the long words."

Acosae Eshai asks, "Ee-tie-yae .. I suck at pronounciation guides, but something like that perhaps?"

Morrigan Blackfury nods.

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Its a very fluid speech, the words just flow together." Acosae Eshai says, "I got that impression, mhm." Haidee Idia-Anari asks, "So it's basically like the pronounciation of the vowels in most other languages. A=ah, E=eh, I=ee, O=oh, and U=oo?"

[OOC | The Life Cafe, Lounge] Gentle music drifts through the room, adding to the relaxing atmosphere of the cafe. Tall, arched windows near the garden entrance look out onto the multitudes of colorful flowers. A polished wooden bar with a black onyx surface takes up one wall, it's shining surface reflects the light from the colored crystal glasses that are hung above it. Mahogany tables with tiny multi-colored votive lights in the middle are scattered about the room, surrounded by white cushioned chairs made of gleaming metal. A secluded alcove off to one side provides a quiet place to converse.

As you take note of your surroundings, you discover that the air has a peculiar combination of daffodils and sausages.

You also see an archway leading out into a glass covered garden, a hallway, a pair of double doors made of finely polished wood, a bookcase, a trash can, an onyx-topped mahogany bar with a bluish-glass vase filled with fragrant wildflowers on it, a secluded alcove, a Cloud Court door and a language crate. Acosae Eshai says, "I was putting a French spin on it in my head, but that's just me."

You say, "Id like your thoughts on two things .. how prevalent are pidgin forms of any language in haelrahv, and are there a lot of words that sprang up in any language post-interaction with other cultures? id guess each would have a term for other cultures, like alteri to an eolai might translate as 'peaceful childlike person' but 'easy target' to a darju."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "I would see a lot of new words popping up post arrival."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "As for pidgin forms, I could see that more in the diverse cities." Morrigan Blackfury says, "Although would account for racial interaction, so human and darju mixing could occur, but not really darju and eolai."

Acosae Eshai says, "Well, I was wondering how long Eolai, Jaddan, and Alteri had been around (organized society-wise) before the Human and Darju 'invasions', heh."

You say, "Im just thinking. my real background is in german and asian, and both were quick to bring in 'american' english words once they arose."

You say, "If you go to germany, you will hear things like 'das ist sehr COOL' .. and im sure we all know the stereotypes of jinglish."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "They were around for at least 400 ages before the arrival of the others."

Acosae Eshai asks, "Did the Humans and Darju arrive at roughly the same time, then?" Morrigan Blackfury says, "Yeah, darju first then humans shortly thereafter."

You ask, "And its been about two-hundred-fifty years since that, correct?" Morrigan Blackfury nods.

Zrel Tafkal turns to you and says, "Oh. I have the words from the Darju topic on the boards, as well."

Acosae Eshai asks, "So, I spent a minute or two to modify the Eolai elements for the modern language. Can I offer them for critique?"

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Sure." Acosae Eshai recites:

You say, "When it comes to gender/neuter of language, which i saw addressed earlier .. in darju i think the split would be more superior/inferior or dominant/subjugated, not especially tied to gender."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Exactly its all a power play for them."

You say, "Its a stretch to say we might have a 'humble' form of language, but id think the one in the lower position would be careful what he or she said."

Morrigan Blackfury ponders.

Morrigan Blackfury says, "I think the slaves certainly would be referred to with cruder terms."

Acosae Eshai says, "I wonder which race would excel the most at business. I mean, they each bring their own jazz to the party."

Acosae Eshai says, "I only wonder since social rolls would help define a language." Nkehu Lho says, "Darju would jus either steal it from ya or beat ya up and then steal it."

You say, "Id say it takes a good social acumen, so not darju."

You say, "Intuition, interpersonal relations, negotiation ability .." You say, "Alteri, eolai and possibly human in that order seem right."

Acosae Eshai says, "Don't forget the Jadda. They're more laid back, but I don't think they'd hesitate to lay the law down and get down to business." You say, "The alteri have superior mental powers, also of use."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Actually, I think the Humans first, then Jaddan, then Eolai, then Alteri. Alteri just wouldn't be able to concentrate on the deal long enough to get through it." Drusilla Fyrestick asks, "Would you trust one ?"

Morrigan Blackfury says, "And then Darju." You say, "Darju have a thing about trust in general."

You say, "Short attention span, thats right." Acosae Eshai says, "Darju might be the shady underground dealers. Black-market types." Morrigan Blackfury says, "That's all stereotypical of course." You say, "Always .. some of us have robin hood tendencies. bringing the fruits of the system back home without having suffered to obtain them."

You say, "As i said a while ago, im still thinking about darju numbering and counting. i have to make it consistent though." Acosae Eshai asks, "Ok, so. Just to define social rolls. Eolai are politicians, Humans and Jaddans the businessmen and construction workers, Alteri the artisans, and Darju the.. uh.. <blank>. Yeah?" Zrel Tafkal says, "Hunters. Barterers, perhaps." You ask, "The raw muscle? the physical labour supply?" Acosae Eshai nods to you. Dzynna Zol says, "The slavedrivers." Morrigan Blackfury nods.

You say, "We can do that, but we have our mentally-inclined too. for a while, we did wrest control of titan citys technology."

Zrel Tafkal says, "Same deal with the Jaddan...they had the top Psionic and Mage." Morrigan Blackfury nods to Zrel Tafkal. Zrel Tafkal says, "Just an aberration, though. Not the typical." Dzynna Zol says, "Actually I think Jaddan are quite intelligent, based on the website..."

You say, "Id say so .. even thinking about our martial arts style, its ninja-like. fitting into the surroundings is a key component. adaptation is crucial." Haidee Idia-Anari says, "Then which is the stupid race." Haidee Idia-Anari asks, "Humans?" Zrel Tafkal says, "Eolai."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Which in fact is a holiday tomorrow Vaj Dalor Rii, celebrating their triumphs in magery."

Haidee Idia-Anari says, "Just cause Jaddans can be book smart doesn't mean they're common sense smart."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Jaddan just like to puzzle things out, it takes them a while but they get there."

You say, "I think in a lot of situations darju have a value for practicality, but in 'challenge' areas they might not realise when theyre outnumbered." Acosae Eshai says, "Eolai seem the exact opposite of that."

Morrigan Blackfury says, "Well I hate to cut this short, but I need to get going. Please email me with any questions and when you have something ready, do that as well. I'll get the stuff put into books. I'd like to meet again once I have some more language system stuff in place, maybe like a month or so."
