Racial Origin: Darju

The constellation of Mordor, when the stars are tracked, reveals two large clawed hands. The hands are believed to be a sigil of an extremely powerful clan that died out years ago that was named the Mordor. Artifacts show the type of rather advanced technology they used for their time. The hands themselves are called Toru and Jaika, able to be told apart because Jaika is a clawed hand made up of bright stars while Toru's stars are rather dim. They signify the internal power struggle of nobility and honor vs. survival.

Extremely powerful and efficient hunters, the Mordor were invincible. Noble and courageous, they attempted any prey possible, the preferred of which were other Darju clans that were dishonorable or used weapons on small game because they refused to enjoy the hunt. They were to be respected and, to some, feared. They relished in the hunt, striving for perfection and the perfect prey as any Darju do. However. Not all was well.

The hunting lands they possessed were suddenly plagued by drought, much of the hunt dying and the rest moving into neighboring areas. Food became scarce and some Darju were beginning to starve. The current leader advocated having much smaller quantities of food and to go out hunting less. But there was a challenger.

The challenger claimed that there simply wasn't enough food to support the clan. They would have to move into their neighbors' lands and take over better hunting grounds. The leader refuted him by saying it was incredibly dishonorable to stoop to that level and that conservation would be enough. This division led to many debates among the clan's members and a schism formed-those who wished to maintain their values even if it would be very hard, and those that claimed honor serves no purpose if they were all dead.

Debating became arguing and arguing became conflict. Conflict became physical attacks and the attacks led to more conflict. Eventually the two factions parted and declared war on eachother. The violence of such balance battles led to many dying. In the final push for dominance, only two remained. Both dying from their wounds, they said nothing to eachother. They simply realized how useless it would be to keep fighting. Nobody would win. They were all dead and the last two would die now. They grabbed eachother's hands and shook them, smiling to eachother before they both collapsed and expired. The hands, one of the warrior Toru, the other of the warrior Jaika, represent the futility of war and the love that all Darju should share with eachother.
