Nkehu Lho

Specializing in storytelling and flame dancing, Nkehu Lho is a female, Darju Performer of 120 seasons, who stands tall, even for a Darju, at 7’8”. She has fiery orange eyes, a bronze complexion marked with black bands, and her long naturally crimson hair is currently dyed a flame red. She was just recently married to Zrel Tafkal on the 38th day of the fourth season of Jojun, 251 NC.
Nkehu has no idea where she was born at since her family traveled extensively throughout Haelrahv, before and even after her birth. Eventually, they settled in Titan City where her father, Gado, who was frequently employed as a bartender, purchased a small nightclub in attempt to “create a legacy” for his children. Her mother, Lyareh, died shortly after Nkehu’s birth, and she knows only through the drunken accounts of her father that Lyareh was a dancer of extraordinary talent who wasted her gift performing in strip clubs. Nkehu was often stuck working for her father, doing odd jobs or serving drinks while he was off running some “errand” or another. Although the work was tough, she found that she really did not mind the hard labor as she was granted the chance to listen to the stories and songs from the customers, or occasional Performer, that happened through her father’s establishment.
Little did Nkehu know growing up that the reason they had to move so much was that Gado was a huge gambler, and not a very successful one. He racked up huge debts in each city that they happened through, forcing them to travel onward before the collectors came. His attempt at a “normal” life in Titan City was ultimately ruined by his continued greed. He entered a deal that was just too good to be true, and ended up owing much more than his small club was worth. Eventually, Gado tried to sell Nkehu into slavery in order to make up a debt and that's when her life on the streets of Titan City began. She did anything she could to stay afloat: street performances, pick-pocketing, stealing, whatever she had to do to find that next meal. Eventually, word of her father’s death reached her, around the same time strange men began to seek her out, looking for repayment of her father’s losses. It was at that point that Nkehu decided to skip town and eventually found her way to Llanfair. She lived on the streets for a while, using the skills that she had learned in her time in Titan City to survive until one day she happened upon Eochae. Nkehu must have inherited some of her mother’s talent as despite her unpolished appearance and relative lack of performance skill, Eochae was impressed with her natural grace and she was invited to train at the Llanfair Performing Academy and has since grown into the exceptional Performer that she is today.
