PERFORMER ABILITIES!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Music soothes the savage beast, and Performers now have a chance of calming an
aggressive critter for a small focus cost by singing to it via SERENADE. This
calming effect wears off naturally over time, but is immediately cancelled if
the creature is attacked in any way, or if the Performer leaves the area.

Additionally, Performers will be able to PROVOKE creatures as well. (PROVOKE
<creature> AT <target>). Much like it sounds, you'll attempt to goad the
creature into attacking the victim creature/person. Beware, failure might get
them angry and attack you instead.
Note: PROVOKE requires the Performer to be at least 8th level.

Performers of 20th level or higher are able to lay the deceased (critters) to
rest with a DIRGE. This ability, particularly beneficial when bringing peace
to the undead, not only replenishes a portion of focus based on the difficulty
of the creature, but will also restore stamina and even hit points at higher
character levels.
A DIRGE performed at higher level will also replenish those in your group.

Experienced (level 15+) Performers may be able to LURE a critter, indigenous
to their location, to them. This handy ability requires an instrument (type
isn't specific), and a degree of charm and skill helps.
At the cost of a moderate penalty to the skill check, the Performer can lure a
specified creature with LURE <critter name>. Note that the name is NOUN
SPECIFIC, so know what you're trying to lure.
In addition to guards and undead, luring of civilians (via LURE) is also
disallowed.

While not really an 'ability', Performers working in tandem will now receive a
Trouper Bonus (pun intended). Each Performer in a group (performing character
excluded) will provide a small bonus to the spellsong's power. The population
limit to this bonus stops at five people.

You may also specifically name the creature you're attempting to LURE, in the
event of similar creatures. (ex: LURE A LARGE GAMOJAB).

A performer with enough fame (read: proper level) can AUTOGRAPH stationary,
cards, and other things paper sundry. Note: This isn't an experience or cash
system -- just random fluff.

A Performer's fame, reputation (and ergo) their success is determined as much
by their talent and ability as their reception by their fans and the people
they know; thus, Performers [w/ Standard Accounts] can now SCHMOOZE in rooms
with other people for a charismatic boost.

Update 08/04/05

Schmoozing is now available to all Performers, regardless of account status.

09/19/05

- Performers can CANCEL performances while standing in the Academy archives,
but will take a substantial penalty to reputation for doing so.
- Some new acts have been added to potential performance billings, and a
couple new hidden performance modifier conditions have been implemented.

11/08/05

A new ability, Performers of level 60 and higher may DISTRACT occupants in the
same room.
This effect is cumulative when used by multiple Performers.
