Seth Ventril in and of himself is a contradiction. He is ever changing and what is true with him one day, may next be a lie. He helps those he deems worthy, and chastises those he views useless, and aside from his closest friends he is entirely and absolutely self-serving. He'll take any job for almost any price...If it amuses him. Though self-serving, when it comes to what jobs he takes he is wholly impartial, and views it all as business. Whether it be morally questionable or down right evil. He has helped the newcomers to Llanfair learn their way around, he has valiantly protected kidnapped Alteri before just as quickly as protecting them, turning sides and working under the employ of the "villains" who kidnapped them. He has slain Asai, while wanting nothing more than to strike down a mage on the side of the Cuori.
He comes from an extremely troubled past, and an aristocratic broken home. Due to events leading up to the current point in his life he has been left cold, remorseless, desensitized, delusional and psychopathic. He is not above using the most brutal methods of violence and force at his disposal. Some would second guess his decision as becoming an Agent, being that he is wholly outspoken, brash, and rarely subtle. To this, Seth would respond "You see only what I want you to see." He rarely second guesses any decision he makes, and regrets nothing he's ever done.
He is fiercely territorial and overprotective when it comes to the one thing in the world that means the most to him, his wife Alarah Ventril. He counts very few as true friends and those he does include his recently found half-brother Korell Ventril, and his best friends Elwae Fleury and Dixie Pierce.
He has sworn a blood oath to avenge the death of Rkaren Tkur, presumably by taking the life and loved ones of those who murdered him. He is also awaiting action upon several charges of crimes he may or may not have committed, as well as any further action from the Children of Ilav. He is currently involved in the war of the Cuori versus the Asai, though he despises them both. The Asai for hunting him down, and the Cuori for being unclear in their motives as well as their head mage striking him down on a whim.
