Some Commands for the Beginner
From Haelrahv Wiki
These are some simple commands that beginners will want to take note of.
(This list is currently incomplete)
- TRANSMIT
- This command will allow you to use your communicator to talk to all other members of Haelrahv within range and with active comm. Remember to use TO when you wish to speak directly to another character (e.g., TRANSMITE TO JOE BOB). Both first and last names of the player must be supplied!
- THINK
- As with TRANSMIT, this command allows you to communicate to the community if you have the Telepathy psionic ability. You are also able to THINK directly to another person with the use of the TO command. Both first and last names of the player must be supplied!
- ACT
- This command will allow you to perform any action not immediately available in the list of commands, though it won't actually affect anything it's good for RP. It will show itself like this:
- >act picks his nose.
- Beau Etoile picks his nose.
- or:
- >acts leg begins twitching uncontrollably!
- Hok Ginnde's leg begins twitching uncontrollably!
- HELP PROFESSION
- This command will show you a list of professions, numbered, so that you can select which profession you belong to and thereby get specific help for what sorts of skills and attributes are important for that profession by typing HELP PROFESSION #.
- COMMAND
- This gives a list of all commands usable in the game.
- DUMP FROM (CONTAINER1) TO (CONTAINER2)
- This allows you to dump all or some items (specified after the DUMP command) from one container you are holding into another that you are holding or wearing.
- STOW (ITEM) IN (CONTAINER)
- This command allows you to select a container in which to stow your items, so that thereafter you need only command STOW (ITEM) and that item will be stored in the container previously selected.
- SHEATHE (WEAPON) IN (CONTAINER)
- This command acts similarly to STOW but it only works for weapons.
- SWAP
- Allows two objects to be swapped between hands without the fuss of dropping and picking things back up.
- FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, etc.
- These sorts of commands help you specify which object you want to use/modify/do whatever to. For example, TAP THIRD BOOK would tap the third book in the room. These numbered commands work through TENTH but must be spelled out, you can't use numerical values.
- MY
- Indicates an object in your character's possession versus one in the room itself. For example, TAP MY SWORD would cause your character to tap their sword. Numbered commands also work with this - TAP MY SECOND POUCH would cause your character to tap the second pouch in their inventory.
- LOOK
- This command will allow you to look around whatever room you are currently in.
- Movement
- Obvious exits in a room show where you can move. Try the compass directions (North, NorthEast), which can be shortened to N, NE, S, etc...
