Current Biography
Wei Wao is a female Psionic. She is 4'9", but always wears rollerskates so she appears a bit taller. Wei is easy to pick out in a crowd because of her great love for neon colors and glow jewelry. She has an excessively optimistic nature that can approach the borderline of being annoying, but after such tragedy in the beginning of her life, Wei holds the belief that one must act happy to be happy. Wei is the proud curator of Llanfair's newest and only Rollerdisco and she happily teaches anyone who asks how to rollerskate. Adding to her oddness, Wei has an affinity for keeping undead creatures as pets, to which she gives silly names. When asked about her decaying friends, she will proudly profess that undead creatures are the best kinds of pets, as they require no feeding nor other care and are unrelenting in their loyalty to her.
Several months after Wei arrived in Llanfair, she was adopted by the gracious Dixie Pierce and her husband Lysenthir Zelune. Extremely touched by the welcoming gesture, Wei took to the library and studied for hours for an appropriate Eolaish moniker for her adoptive mother. Wei finally decided on Aetea, a feminine form of the word aeteo.
Wei claims no enemies, but has several friends for whom she'd do just about anything. Among those closest to her are Ebeon Oceolai who she has fondly dubbed The Chef and his Bureaucrat fiancee Aebi Aeco, the great Ingot's Bane Alexi Nuarewaa, Megganserra Kendryke, and Morgana Vli.
Background
Wei lived her early life in Wargale with her father Wov Wao, her mother Xeie Wao and her infant sister, Lixi Wao. Following in the footsteps of the females in her family, Wei started studying Psionics at an extremely young age. While she was still very young, her mother fell tragically ill and both Wei and her sister were sent to live with Xeie's second cousin, an Artisan named Risshiwi Xeo who lived in Virtuoso. After a few month's time passed, the sad news came that Xeie had succumbed to her illness. Devestated, Wov's mental health declined and he was unable to care for the young Wei and her toddler sister and so the two young Waos had the rest of their belongings sent to Risshiwi's home. Wei spent two years in Virtuoso, but felt very out of place amidst the artists and performers. Longing for a place where she could study psonics to a more advanced degree than Virtuoso could offer, Wei left the city and after a great deal of searching, came upon Llanfair. Touched by the friendliness of its residents and fascinated by the diversity of the city, she made her home and settled to continue her psionic studies and her dreams of owning a Rollerdisco like the ones she had read about.
Almost immediately after getting the Rollerdisco set up, Wei sent a letter to Risshiwi, asking her to send Lixi to Llanfair so that Wei could care for and raise her. However, Wei was crushed when her letters were returned to her marked "No Such Address". Unable to find out what had happened, Wei still holds hope that Lixi will either come in contact with Wei or find her way to Llanfair.
